Whisper of Memory:

Weapons training and winter formals… a deadly combination

All Mia ever wanted was to fit in at Whispering Woods High. But being a portal-finder who dates a guy from another dimension sort of makes it hard. A month ago her brother disappeared, and agents from the IIA began policing people’s movements through dimensions. She’d trusted Dr. Bleeker from the local university when he’d told her the IIA were the bad guys. But even a girl with an extraordinary ability to sense things can make mistakes.

Now two people are dead, and as a portal gatekeeper for the IIA, Mia needs to find Dr. Bleeker before he hurts anyone else. And her boyfriend Regulus, an Agent for the IIA, carries secrets of his own. Between learning about weaponry, finding the perfect dress for the winter formal, and catching bad guys, who has time to fit in?

Question #1:
High school senior Mia Taylor and her friends seem to draw trouble like a magnet.  Did you have anything out of the ordinary happen to you during your senior year?
I actually graduated at the end of my junior year. So I went to college at seventeen, four hours away from home! That was pretty exciting and a little bit scary.
Question #2:
Before her involvement with the Interdimensional Immigration Authorities (IIA), Mia Taylor had only used weapons in video games. Now, she’s required to protect herself.
Which weapon does Mia get to practice? She learns how to throw a knife. What would be your weapon of choice?
I have always wanted to learn to shoot a gun. Not sure why. Knives scare me. When I was in fourth grade, I slept over at a friend’s house and she thought it would be funny to chase me down the stairs with a butcher knife the way they did in horror movies. Then, I freaked and locked myself in her bathroom until her parents came home. Now, all I can think about is what would have happened if we’d tripped going down those stairs. <Shudder>

Lori, I know you’re still studying the inside of your eyelids. Brinda, I have no clue about you. You wake at odd hours, as I do.

    One word: WOOT!

I purchased my copy of Whisper of Memory yesterday.

  2. Well, Lori and Gloria, as I try to tug on my Spanx for this party, I am amazed at my good fortune. How did I luck out by having such great, supportive writer friends? Thanks, Lori, for helping me to celebrate.
