I try to put something inspirational in everything I write. Someone asked me where the “inspirational” is in “The First Day of the New Tomorrow.” The question made me giggle. Everything about the story is inspirational to me.
When I was coming up with the concept, I was dancing around the idea of angels, and how hard an angel’s life might be. I thought, “It’s probably like being a super hero.”
Then I played with the idea of these angels walking around doing their thing while living among us. How hard a job would that be? Could you imagine? Would these angels even know they were angels, or would they have to figure it out for themselves?
What would happen if they did the wrong thing? They’d have to be on their toes at all times. And if they fail. Wow… nothing like the guilt you’d feel if you failed the Ultimate Boss, right?
This is what The First Day of the New Tomorrow is all about. Coming to terms with what you were meant to be, and not being afraid to face it… Even if you have to climb up to a really high place and scream to Him to give you another chance.
THE FIRST DAY OF THE NEW TOMORROW is a young adult story about the ultimate test: living up to His expectations while living in a world with its own. The inspirational aspect is woven in to gently touch the reader while entertaining with a fun, energetic story.
